On a sad note, RIP to Andrew Koenig. I was friends with him on MySpace for awhile...until I discovered fb. We hardly ever agreed on anything, but he was a funny and talented guy.
I posted an 'unfinished' piece from the BoRhap video. I didn't like the fact that, no matter what I do, I will not get any kind of features on Kenny Kamrin's face. Let's just call it a pen tool exercize and leave it at that. I'm working on a Ben Sae-Tang piece, between projects.

My joking mantra of the week has been "fine art should begin with tracing" because I can draw, I just can't trace very well. So, I'm being schooled in Adobe Suite, which includes Illustrator. Thus, my week has been filled with pen tool, fill and stroke, layers and frustration. I'm also working on umpteen projects that have to be designed, drawn and printed 'downstairs' in the offset/letterpress/screenprint area in about a month.
This is the first of the promised "bad" Octet art. This was done pretty much this afternoon in Illustrator. Bear with me as I have only begun to learn the program. Also, keep in mind that it was done on my laptop, which doesn't have a mouse. So - touch pad, and a first attempt at Illustrator art. I'll post this here and in the Octet Art page. The future 'pieces' will just be posted on the Art link. Hopefully the pieces will get better as I go along. :) Fair warning, they might not. The tie is pretty horrible, I know. |
